Who I Am

Sometimes we feel broken

Growing up in toxic family dynamics, many of us are left feeling incomplete. So, we attempt to fill the gap with people, places, things, and accomplishments.

But when we obtain “whatever it is we thought we needed,” it’s still not enough.

Regardless of the numerous advanced degrees, houses, cars, toys, and bank accounts we accumulate, we still end up at odds. At odds with what?

Presence…

The ability and willingness to be comfortable within your own skin, regardless of situation and/or circumstance.

Sure, we could put on a good show, but that often leaves us feeling like the “The Great Pretender” from the Jackson Browne song.

There has to be more to life than this!

Success is often filled with compromise and postponement – the postponement of being able to breathe deeply and experience the joy.

I work with people who have acquired all the external indicators of success, yet still long to find the empowerment of being present in the process.

I am your life coach, your personal trainer, your nutritional and clinical weight loss advisor, your supporter, and your motivator.

What I Bring to The Table

I am a retired clinical psychologist with a Ph.D. from Wayne State University and currently hold certifications as a life coach, recovery coach, personal trainer, advanced sports and nutritional advisor, clinical weight loss practitioner, martial arts chief instructor, and a clinical hypnotherapist.

I was struck by the fact that clients sought out professional physical, mental, social, and nutritional help piecemeal.

My greatest challenge was to design a system of change that incorporated all these factors and addressed them simultaneously.

I have over 30 years of experience in the health and fitness fields and utilize motivational interviewing as a platform to assist clients in achieving their health and fitness goals.

I believe that my purpose is to provide clients with professional and personalized programs that provide guidance, increased accountability, and measurable outcomes for all their health and wellness concerns.

A Message from Doc

What’s your favorite part of this job?

My most successful and favorite project is the satisfaction that I see in the faces of my clients who have put in the work. They have explored and taken inventory of both their assets and deficits related to body, mind, and nutrition; made the difficult, but necessary lifestyle changes; and claimed the successes that they deserved.

How do you keep your clients happy and satisfied?

The best strategy is to provide the client with what s/he needs. Our physical health and well-being are directly correlated with what we think and feel. Both of these are impacted directly, either positively or negatively, by our relationship to food.

Having access to a professional that includes and addresses these continuously throughout the provision of services makes all the difference in the world.
